Can Healing Rheumatoid Arthritis Be As Simple As Loving Yourself More?

Is RA something that just happened to you? Or is rheumatoid arthritis a reflection of your inner world that you can change by loving yourself more?

Nothing is what it seems in this universe. Physical objects appear solid and separate from one another. Our bodies too seem separate from other bodies and the world we experience around us.

But despite appearances all our bodies and the world we live in are connected to us and are in fact a reflection of who we are being.

Everything in its essential state, including you and me, is energy and information in motion. There are no definite boundaries. There is no separateness. There is only unity. All is one in this universe.

The physical is the same as the non-physical, as the physical is an expression of the non-physical. So too for our physical bodies and for our experience with rheumatoid arthritis.

What is ‘out there’ is ‘in here’. ‘Out there’ is an expression of what is happening within. In terms of healing, rheumatoid arthritis is a reflection of what is happening within that is being physically expressed ‘without’, i.e. through the body, even though it seems there is something ‘out there’ (separate from us) that is creating rheumatoid arthritis.

But as we now know that our DNA is not to blame, what then is happening on the inside? What is causing the body to reflect rheumatoid arthritis?

In terms of your own healing the question therefore is, what is being reflected back to you? What is really going on within for you? And what has loving yourself got to do with healing?

I’ve discovered that when it comes to rheumatoid arthritis there is usually a part, or parts, of yourself you are not loving. Not only are you not loving yourself, but you are in fact attacking yourself. On an emotional level there is a part of you that believes you are not worthy of happiness, of belonging, of joy, of being here, of love.

Chances are that in the past you’ve taken on responsibility and took the blame for something that had nothing to do with you, nor were you responsible for. You are blaming yourself. You feel guilty.

And this state of self-attack is being reflected by your body, by your immune system. Your body receives signals, messages from you and acts on these. Every cell of your body is listening to your true intentions: what is happening within, not how you wish things would be.

So what intentions, what non-loving signals, are you sending out to your body?

A sure way of finding out is to go where you least want to go: the perceived enemy that is rheumatoid arthritis.

Like it or not, but rheumatoid arthritis can show you the way to loving yourself and healing more.

Instead of resisting rheumatoid arthritis and wanting to get rid of it, take a new approach. Invite rheumatoid arthritis in, connect with it and ask it questions. Questions like:

  • Is there a purpose for you being here?
  • Is there something you want to tell me?
  • If you could speak, what would you say to me?
  • Is there something I am holding onto that no longer serves me?

Become curious. Open your mind to receiving messages from rheumatoid arthritis that reflect deeper parts of you that are in need of self-love, self-acceptance and healing.

Allow rheumatoid arthritis to be in your life. Let it be your guide and it will reveal to you what your true intentions have been.

For healing to occur it is important to take full responsibility for rheumatoid arthritis and to look ‘in here’ and not ‘out there’ for answers.

RA is a reflection of your inner world. It is a reflection of parts of you that you’re not yet loving about yourself. By loving yourself and those parts more, true inner healing can take place.
